The SFD K9 Search & Rescue Support Group is a non-profit 501-c(3) organization to help support the on-going training, equipment and travel needs of the Team. The Shreveport Fire Department is unable to fully support the teams financial needs, so the support group was formed to fulfill any shortfall. Thanks to the support of businesses and individuals in the community our team has been able to respond to numerous disaster areas in our region such as Katrina and recently the tornadoes in Alabama, along with finding lost individuals in our local vicinity.
Please note that all of the members of the Search & Rescue Task Force operate on a volunteer basis. Their time and efforts are given without compensation, in addition to their regular duties as Fire Fighters. Numerous hours of training are needed to maintain this amazing Team. We are truly fortunate to have this Team in our community.
Please call (318) 797-8489 or email us if you would like to help by donating to this invaluable team. (all donations are tax-deductible)
